Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: The college is in an uproar when the Ass Crack Bandit begins a new reign of terror leading to Jeff (Joel McHale) and Annie (Alison Brie) working together to solve the case.
Kitty Cameos: Jeff and Annie are in Dean Pelton’s (Jim Rash) office when the Ass Crack Bandit calls. They trace the call to the school’s barn and rush out to investigate. Some strange diagrams involving cats are hanging on the walls.
They are shocked when Starburns (Dino Stamatopoulos) walks in, a surprise since he was thought to be dead. They chase him through the barn and finally find him sitting in a radio flyer wagon tied to four cats. He is trying to get the cats to pull the wagon to help him get away. Not surprisingly the cats are completely uncooperative despite the fact he is dangling a fish in front of them. It is later explained that he was trying to build a cat car.
At the end of the episode, Starburns is seen explaining his cat car concept under the end credits.
Two plans for the cat car are explained, one being hunger-based and the other fear-based.
Final Mewsings: We haven’t seen a good cat car since the Our Gang shorts!
Many thanks to Laurie Morrison for letting us know about the cats in this episode.
