Synopsis: Based on the play The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe, this film tells the classic Faust story of a man who sells his soul to the devil.
Kitty Cameo: In one scene Doctor Faust (Richard Burton) appears before an emperor’s court. As he enters he is carrying a black cat, which is actually the character Mephistophilis. Faust sets the cat on the ground where the cat scratches himself.
The cat later scurries off and is seen looking down upon the court when Faust is in need of his powers.
Final Mewsings: Hell must be itchy.
