Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Newly-elected Congressman Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) finds himself in a strange situation when God (Morgan Freeman) warns him of an impending flood and asks him to build an Ark.
Kitty Cameos: As would be expected in a film about Noah’s Ark many animals are present in pairs throughout the film. When Evan has not yet figured out that animals in pairs are following him around, he walks out of his house where two gray cats are sitting on either side of the steps leading to the driveway. Evan just tells them this is not their home and moves on.
Later when Evan is addressing Congress wearing the classic Noah’s robes and sporting the long hair and beard, hundreds of animals suddenly run into the assembly. Among them are an orange tabby cat and a long-haired white cat. They sit on the table behind Evan as he speaks.
The cat pair is never consistent in the film. In one scene on the Ark the ginger and white cat are seen again.
But later on the Ark it is a ginger and gray cat present!
Final Mewsings: Hope they sorted out which two cats were going on the Ark!
