Directed by: William Dieterle

Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Sherwood Nash (William Powell) is always looking for the next get-rich-quick scheme and finds it with artist Lynn Mason (Bette Davis) in the lucrative world of knock-off fashions.

Kitty Cameo: The crooks go to Paris to work on their plan. Lynn is working on some sketches when a white cat climbs onto the table.

Lynn crosses the room and scoops up the cat, saying, “Oh kitten! Oh, aren’t you ashamed of yourself!” Oddly enough the cat does not appear again, although at the end of the film Lynn suddenly has a dog.

This cat appears to be a small female and as such would not be noted cat actor Whitey, who was a male.

Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like being traded for dogs!
