by Linda Kay
English Titles: The Killers, The Slayers
Directed by: Fabrizio Taglioni
Synopsis: When a man is accused of murder as well as the theft of a priceless bracelet, he flees to Venezuela. The victim’s adult children, Anna (Geneviève Audry) and Stephen (Isarco Ravaioli), follow him in hope of retrieving the jewelry and bringing the man to justice. But not everything is as it seems.
Kitty Cameo: In his introductory scene, Stephen is sitting on a couch with a Siamese cat when his butler announces a police inspector is there to see him.

This in itself is highly unextraordinary. What is startling about the scene is Stephen is casually watching a documentary with absolutely horrific scenes of humans killing and inflicting cruelty on a variety of animals, including a pack of capibaras. This alone is enough to warn any animal lovers to steer clear of this film! While Stephen turns the sound on the television down, explaining to the inspector he finds it distressing, he sure seems excited about the bloody carnage onscreen.

Once Anna shows up the cat disappears and is not seen again.

Final Mewsings: Cats don’t appreciate owners who are into violence towards animals.
Many thanks to Nick Wale for letting us know about the cat in this film (and warning us about the animal violence!)
