Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A Coronet Instructional Film about a boy named Jimmy who visits a farm and thinks about all the ways animals help humans.
Featured Feline: Jimmy is walking to his grandfather’s farm when he finds a lost tuxedo kitten in the grass.
Jimmy picks up the kitten and takes it with him. He knows there is no place for the kitten in his own home but wonders if his grandfather will let the kitten live on the farm.
As he thinks about the situation, Jimmy realizes that all of the animals on the farm are helpful in their own way. But how can the kitten be helpful?
The grandfather confirms Jimmy’s thoughts when he tells the boy to come up with a way the kitten can be useful and earn its keep.
The students watching the film are asked if they have any ideas of what the kitten can do on the farm. Of course in the end the obvious conclusion is reached.
Final Mewsings: A better title would have been How We Force Animals to Help Us.
