Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: This episode of the all-star religious program focuses on God’s (Keenan Wynn) creation of Adam (Randolph Mantooth), helped by The Angel Josh (Marty Feldman).
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): When God first creates Adam, he has given him a tail, a horn, wings and fur. Josh objects to the wings so God removes them as Adam is sitting to one side petting a tortoiseshell kitten.
Adam notes the kitten has a hurt leg and rubs it.
Near the end of the episode, Adam is telling God how he found this small cat. “Oh, Fred!” God says, and makes the kitten appear in Adam’s hands.
Adam speculates that the kitten had fallen. “It did indeed,” God confirms, “I need to increase its sense of balance. It could break its neck the way it is.”
Adam then notes how his heart went out to the kitten so he rubbed its leg to make it feel better. God concludes that only man can love imperfection.
When Adam gets up to leave he pauses and thanks God for the cat. “I give him the world and he thanks me for a cat?” God says with surprise.
Final Mewsings: Thank God for cats!
