Synopsis: Pierre Lachenay (Jean Desailly) is a noted publisher and lecturer who falls for a pretty stewardess named Nicole (Françoise Dorléac) while in Lisbon and starts having an affair with her, which his wife France (Nelly Benedetti) eventually suspects.

Kitty Cameo: In one scene Nicole and Pierre are staying in a remote country town in a hotel with separate cabins.  Nicole picks up their food tray and sets it outside the door.  After closing the door, a small kitten shows up and starts sniffing around the tray looking for something to eat.

A behind the scenes re-enactment of this scene was played out in Truffaut’s later film Day for Night, in which the difficulty of shooting such a seemingly simple moment is revealed.
