Kitty Cameo (with Catapult): In one scene Charlie is looking for a suspect and on a tip he climbs some wooden stairs leading to the back door of an upper floor apartment.  As he reaches the top he quietly approaches the window to look inside.  Suddenly a cat screeches and leaps into the scene . . . or rather a cat’s screech is dubbed in and a cat actor is tossed into the scene.

Charlie is startled for a second then continues to listen at the door before breaking the door in.  All the while the tabby cat is standing by, watching with mild curiosity.
