Synopsis: Miss Brooks (Eve Arden) faces a bizarre series of events after having her fortune read.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The first scene finds Miss Brooks with Angela, who is reading her fortune via cards. The message is foreboding and predicts a series of events, including the breaking of a mirror and meeting a black cat. Miss Brooks proceeds to swat at a fly and breaks a mirror. Angela tries to get rid of the pieces by throwing them out the front door. A black cat then appears on the doorstep.

Angela picks up the black cat and hands it to Miss Brooks, who gasps and hands it back. Angela places the cat back outside.

Final Mewsings: Black cats can’t help it if they show up at an inopportune time.
