Synopsis: Danny (James Cagney) is an ex-con who decides to go straight upon his release and seeks work at a disreputable newspaper as a picture snatcher. He also accidentally falls in love with the daughter of the policeman who arrested him!
Kitty Cameo: When Danny finds out that Patricia (Patricia Ellis) happens to be the daughter of his arresting officer Lieutenant Nolan (Robert Emmett O’Connor) he runs out of her apartment building and down the street. As he slides to a stop to dive down the staircase leading to a basement apartment a black and white cat can just be seen sitting in the railings of the recess.
After the danger has passed, Danny pops up again and laughs about the close encounter, petting the cat as he does so.
