Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Cattle rancher Clay Hardin (Errol Flynn) returns to San Antonio, Texas, to bring the cattle rustlers who almost killed him to justice. And he might just win the girl as well.
Kitty Cameo: Much of the action takes place in the Bella Union hotel and saloon owned by Roy Stuart (Paul Kelly), the bigshot behind the cattle rustling. We first see the hotel when a boy is delivering a telegram. The boy pauses at the front desk for a moment to ask for Stuart. A tabby Maine Coon cat can be seen sitting on the bar drinking something out of a glass.
Later in the film Stuart is at the bar when the tabby appears again. The cat walks right up to Stuart’s glass filled with liquor and starts to drink. Stuart tells the bartender (Harry Seymour) to “get this drunken cat off the bar!” The bartender admits the animal is a little drunk and removes the cat.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like to be cut off.
