Starring: Loretta Young, Winnie Lightner, Lyle Talbot
Directed by: Busby Berkeley, George Amy
Synopsis: Florence Denny (Loretta Young) works as a secretary in a clothing business office where her boss has decided to draw “customer girls” from their pool of stenographers. Complications lead Florence to meet and fall for a handsome client named Danny (Lyle Talbot) but further confusion paves the way for heartbreak.
Purr Blurs: At one point Florence is anticipating the arrival of Danny at her apartment and her coworker and roommate Maizee (Winnie Lightner) decides to make herself scarce. “Two’s company, three’s a crowd,” Maizee says as she walks out the door. In the hallway she sees three small cats sitting on the steps leading upstairs. “And that goes for you, too!” Maizee directs to the cats before walking downstairs.
Final Mewsings: She should have said “Two’s company, three’s a clowder!”
