Starring: Barbara Stanwyck, Regis Toomey, Clara Blandick
Directed by: Nicholas Grinde
Synopsis: Kitty (Barbara Stanwyck) is a poor working girl who falls for a rich college student named David (Regis Toomey) not realizing the lengths which his mother (Clara Blandick) will go to keep them apart.
Purr Blurs: Anxious to keep her son from marrying Kitty, Mrs. Livingston goes to the home where Kitty lives behind the diner where she works. As she and her friend the judge walk from the diner to the small house, they pass through a yard with overflowing garbage cans and trash all around. Three kittens, a white one on top of one of the cans and two tabby ones down below, can be seen. Mrs. Livingston comments “What a terrible place!”
Later when David returns to the house to get Kitty, there is no answer at her door. He walks across the yard to the diner, literally jumping over the kittens, two of which have now moved to the wooden walkway.
Final Mewsings: There are worse things than having a yard infested with kittens!
