Synopsis: Mrs. Hilton (Claudette Colbert) and her two daughters Jane (Jennifer Jones) and Brig (Shirley Temple) endure trials and tribulations when their patriarch enlists in World War II.

Purr Blur: In one scene the oldest daughter, Jane is seen graduating from high school. For some unknown reason a tabby cat is present, standing in the aisle between the rows of chairs. A meow has been added to the soundtrack to acknowledge the presence of the cat.

Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Later Jane and her romantic interest, Bill (Robert Walker) decide to take a late night walk. After deciding which way to go, a close up of two tabby cats are seen supposedly watching the couple pass.

The same two cats are seen watching Jane and Bill return down the street with Brig. No explanation is ever given for the cats’ presence in these scenes.
