Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: When Jenny Young (Gina Rodriguez) breaks up with her long-time boyfriend Nate (LaKeith Stanfield), she gathers her girlfriends around her to attend an exclusive underground concert.
Kitty Cameo: One stop for Jenny and her friends Erin (DeWanda Wise) and Blair (Brittany Snow) is a bodega to pick up some snacks. Jenny has a memory about Nate and then a song she connects with him starts to play. Her friends comfort her as she starts to sing along to the song. Eventually Erin and Blair also join in, belting out the song using some string cheese as a microphone. Suddenly the bodega manager (Kenneth De Abrew) starts yelling at them. Behind the man is a tabby cat lying in a box on a rack between bags of chips.
The man tells the girls they are scaring his cat. Actually the cat looks as if it couldn’t care less about the impromptu singing.
Jenny starts yelling back at the man and Claire gives him a twenty to pay for their snacks as they quickly leave.
Final Mewsings: Bodega cats don’t get rattled by much.
