Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains MAJOR spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A woman (Frida Jansdotter) is traveling home when she becomes infected by a strange phenomenon which she soon realizes is spreading rapidly.
Note: We strongly recommend watching this short film before reading this review!
Kitty Cameo: After having been chased by a man made up entirely of the phenomenon, the woman is saved by another man (Björn Söderbäck) who takes her to his apartment. There he opens up a can of food for his pet gray cat.
Cartoon Cat: Later that night some infected men drive by the building and we catch a glimpse of what looks like the cat crossing the road.
The now infected cat returns to the apartment and lies upon the man, who absent-mindedly pets the kitty in his sleep.
The next morning the man has been infected and makes a difficult choice. As the woman walks away, she is startled by the infected cat who arches its back and hisses at her.
The cat scratches at her but she throws a bucket of water on the kitty who melts into a flat figure.
As everything comes to a bleak end, the woman is standing on the roof of the building and sees the infected cat.
She approaches and gathers the kitty into her arms.
Final Mewsings: No matter the circumstances, it is impossible to resist picking up and petting a kitty.
Many thanks to Wahrhaftig for letting us know about the cat in this short film.
