This review contains a very mild Kitty Carnage Warning!
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Tammy (Sandra Dee) decides to go to college to learn more about the wide world.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Tammy works as a babysitter to help pay for her college courses. One home has three boys who have all been raised in a very lenient household. As a result, they are presumptuous and unused to discipline. One of the boys has tied a Siamese kitten to a bunch of balloons.
When Tammy asks what the boy thinks he’s doing, the boy replies, “I’m going to send this little beast into orbit.” “Well, I don’t reckon this permissive system of bringing up kids is gonna by very popular with cats,” Tammy sighs to herself.
Mild Kitty Carnage Warning: After being distracted by another boy who is sampling smoking, Tammy hears the kitten crying. She rushes back to find the kitten dangling in the air from the balloons. Tammy is livid, rescuing the kitten and yelling at the boy, “My golly, you’re apt to have killed it! How’d you like to be hung up in the air like that?” “I wouldn’t mind if it’s in the cause of scientific advancement,” the boy answers.
Tammy continues to hold the kitten throughout the scene. Fortunately the kitten actor never seems to be in any real danger.
Final Mewsings: Cats definitely don’t want to help bratty children with their scientific experiments.
Many thanks to Brian for letting us know about the kitten in this movie.
