The Glass Tomb (1955)

by Mark Murton

Original Title: The Glass Cage

Directed by: Montgomery Tully

Synopsis: Carnival barker Pel Pelham (John Ireland) and professional ‘Starving Man’ Sapolio (Eric Pohlmann) hold a party to raise money for a new circus act. When a girl is murdered during the evening, the various performers quickly become suspects.

Purr Blur: One of the guests at the party is “Ivan the Terrible” (Bernard Bresslaw) who is seen several times cradling a small black kitten.

Oddly enough, Ivan isn’t holding the cat at the start of the scene nor at the end, plus no one else mentions or reacts to the kitten.
