The Mean Season (1985)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Phillip Borsos

Synopsis: Miami reporter Malcolm Anderson (Kurt Russell) is assigned to cover the murder of a young girl but gets pulled deep into the story when the killer calls to give him exclusive information.

Purr Blur: At one point Anderson goes to a trailer park to meet a man who may have information about the killer’s identity. As they walk toward the man’s home a black cat runs across the road, perhaps a foreshadowing of the turn things are about to take.
