Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Doctor Augustine Lofthouse (George Clooney) is a survivor of a worldwide catastrophe trying to contact the last spaceship before it returns to Earth.
Kitty Cameo: One of the crew members on the spaceship is named Maya (Tiffany Boone) and she is sitting in a hologram area enjoying virtual footage of family and friends. Sanchez (Demián Bichir) happens by and Maya invites him in. She points out her sister and best friend then tells him to wait for it. She turns and points as a woman enters carrying an adorable gray cat. “The world’s smartest cat, Einstein,” Maya explains.
As Maya’s sister rubs the cat’s chin in the footage, Maya says to Einstein, “He still likes me best!”
Later Sanchez again visits the room to view the footage, including the woman holding Einstein on her lap.
Final Mewsings: It’s nice to see a cat recognized for his brains and not just his good looks.
