Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A musical remake of the film Cowboy from Brooklyn. Steve Carroll (Dennis Morgan) and Danny Foster (Jack Carson) are song and dance men who become stranded at a dude ranch in Texas where they find both love and drama.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): As in the previous version, Danny is deathly afraid of animals, hearing strange music and shrinking in fear whenever one is near. He sees a psychiatrist who offers a solution and so Danny tries it. Afterwards he is sitting on the arm of a couch in a lounge when he realizes a small grey and white cat is on the cushion behind him.
Danny leaps up in fear, startling the cat who looks at him with confusion.
Danny grabs a chair and holds it up, drawing an even more puzzled and adorable look from the cat.
Realizing he is not hearing the music, Danny slowly reaches over to pet the cat.
Now that he knows he’s no longer afraid he pets the cat more vigorously. As anyone who knows cats can predict the cat starts nipping at him and trying to grab him with it claws.
Danny is so happy that he’s no longer afraid of animals he shouts “Yahoo!” The cat runs away and Danny comments, “Now they’re afraid of me!”
Final Mewsings: Danny was just seconds away from learning to be afraid of cats again!
