Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Based on the novel by E.M. Forster. An English family is startled when a widower named Lilia (Helen Mirren) meets and marries a dentist, Gino Carella (Giovanni Guidelli), while on vacation in Tuscany, leading to complications.

Kitty Cameo: When Philip (Rupert Graves) comes to Tuscany to see what is happening, he has dinner in the hotel dining room with Lilia, Gino and Lilia’s young friend Caroline (Helena Bonham Carter). Lilia seems distressed and cries, “Oh, the poor fish!” A small tabby kitten is looking hungrily into a goldfish bowl.

Gino immediately jumps up and removes the cat from the shelf, dropping it on the floor. He then proceeds to cover the fishbowl with a plate. Caroline points out that the fish will die without air and Gino scoffs, “Fish live in water, not air!”
