In a later scene, Vernon sneaks into the science classroom at night to feed Mr. Mumps, whom he has also used as a test subject for the new drug he has created as part of his biology project. However, he discovers that the drug has turned Mr. Mumps into a snarling beast who has already killed the cat. Naturally we are subjected to various shots of the poor dead kitty.

Final Mewsings: If there’s one thing movies have taught us it’s that creepy school janitors love their cats!
