Bar 20 Justice (1938)

Directed by: Lesley Selander

Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Hopalong Cassidy (William Boyd) suspects wrongdoing when a miner is killed in an accident.

Purr Blur: Hopalong assigns his friend Windy (George Hayes) to keep an eye on the happenings at the mine. Windy gets a job as a watchman and spies on the bad guys. When he makes a noise, Windy has to scramble back to the opening of the mine and pretend to be asleep. One of the bad guys investigates, suspecting that Windy made the noise. But then he hears a meow (which sounds very much like a person trying to make a meowing sound) and a white cat can barely be seen walking down the shaft towards Gabby.

The bad guy returns to the others and says, “All right, men, back to work. It was just that old white cat.”
