Synopsis: Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) takes a bad fall while trimming her tree.

Featured Feline: Rita is cat-sitting Mrs. MacElroy’s ginger tabby Arthur over the holidays, keeping the cat at her place so she doesn’t have to go back and forth. She lies to her friends and neighbors, telling them she is going away for Christmas so they won’t feel sorry for her being alone.

Rita decides to decorate her tree and pets Arthur before she gets on a stepstool and reaches high up to adjust the angel on the top. She loses her balance and falls backwards with the tree coming down on top of her.

This story arc caused quite a fervor of speculation on the internet, as many people worried that Arthur might actually eat Rita! While the cat was not of much help, he certainly didn’t come close to munching on the woman.
