Flushed Away (2006)

Directed by: David Bowers and Sam Fell

Synopsis: Roddy the rat (voiced by Hugh Jackman), the pampered pet of a rich girl, is flushed down the toilet by an intruding street rat named Sid (Shane Richie).

Purr Blurs: During a frog’s back story, a photograph of several Royal pets include two Siamese cats and a ginger kitten is on screen for a moment.

In the same segment, a Valentine’s Day card with a cat on it is part of a montage featuring a photograph of Prince Charles and his pet frog.

At the end of the film, the rich family returns home and Roddy’s owner announces she’s brought him a new friend. We see the shadow of a cat who meows which makes Sid scream, leading into the end credits playing the song What’s New Pussycat?

Final Mewsings: Thankfully cats are usually too big to be flushed.
