Synopsis: Bernie Lootz (William H. Macy) is a bona fide loser; so much so that he acts as a “cooler” in a Las Vegas casino to pay off his debts. But will love turn Bernie’s luck around?

Kitty Cameo: Bernie meets a woman named Natalie (Maria Bello) who ends up back at his place. She notices a dish and water on the floor and asks if he has a cat. He simply shakes his head no. But later in the film after a romantic night, Bernie wakes up to find a long-haired black cat standing above him in bed.

Bernie is amazed and says in disbelief, “Trixie? You came back?”

Trixie is then seen eating from the bowl on the floor as Bernie dances around the apartment. Sadly Trixie is not seen again, not even when Bernie and Natalie plan to leave town together to start their new lives.
