The Crater Lake Monster (1977)

Directed by: William R. Stromberg

Synopsis: A meteor crashes into Crater Lake, Oregon, releasing a dinosaur that goes on a rampage.

Kitty Cameos: Among the cast of characters in this low-budget flick are a couple of goofy guys named Mitch (Mark Siegel) and Arnie (Glen Roberts). They provide the comic relief in most of their scenes, which are plentiful. They two run a boat rental business and drink a lot of beer. In one scene they are sitting in a yard drinking beer and talking. Several animals are around them, including some dogs and two black cats.

In one quick shot a dog jumps into the spot where one of the black cats is sitting and startles the cat away.

The cats are usually just seen in the background, but they do get one nice shot to themselves.
