In recounting the reason for his anger, we see the Stork as he tries to deliver the kittens. He passes into an area ravaged by the war. The weapons are their own characters and a large gun named Big Bertha fires a missile at him. He scrambles to run on the missile and the kittens also run along its length.

A shell then approaches behind the Stork and opens up, revealing a lighter which sets the stork’s tail feathers on fire. The Stork wonders what is cooking and the kittens also sniff at the smoke in the air.

Later the Stork’s bundle is snatched from him by a speeding shell. It then passes to yet another projectile and one kitten climbs out of the sack and rides on top, having fun doing so.

The Stork sees that the two missiles are going to hit head on and throws himself between them with the loose kitten hanging on to his tail. The kitten still seems to be enjoying himself. Finally the Stork is able to push them all out of the way of danger.

Back at home, the Stork’s conscious reminds him that his forefathers delivered babies all through World War I, the Civil War and the Revolutionary War. Protecting himself with a stove and pan, the Stork sets about delivering the kittens, outwitting the evil machines of war. The animation is extremely clumsy in this particular short but the kittens are so darn adorable they make up for it!

Final Mewsings: Kittens are more important than war!
