Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Betty Jo (Linda Kaye Henning) and Steve (Mike Minor) enjoy a Hawaii honeymoon but a planned phone call to Hooterville causes excitement and then frustration.
Cat Cattle Call: At the appointed time, Kate (Bea Benaderet) and other townsfolk gather in Sam Drucker’s General Store to receive the anticipated phone call. Only the operator is having trouble patching them through. On top of that, the store becomes increasingly noisy with people coming in and out. In the midst of the turmoil, the fish delivery man arrives followed by numerous cats who come running inside.
“Holy catfish!” Uncle Joe exclaimes. “No Joe,” the delivery man corrects, “Perch and bass!”
Sam Drucker (Frank Cady) finally gets up and tells everyone to quiet down so Kate can hear. There is one final meow and Sam points a finger, scolding, “And that goes for you, too!” A tiny tabby kitten scurries away.
Final Mewsings: A clowder of cats will add chaos to any scene!
