Synopsis: An American boy named Ceddie (Freddie Bartholomew) is shocked to find out he is in fact a British Earl.
Kitty Cameo: When Ceddie and his mother (Dolores Costello) travel to England they stop at the cottage which is to be his mother’s home. Since the Earl of Dorincourt (C. Aubrey Smith) did not approve of his son’s marriage to Ceddie’s mother, he does not want her living with them. While she is discussing this with Havisham (Henry Stephenson) she watches Ceddie playing with a longhair gray and white cat.
The cat is barely visible when Ceddie places him or her on a chair as his mother approaches. The cat is not seen again. This scene mimics one which was illustrated by Reginald Bathurst Birch for the book.
