Synopsis: Idealistic Welsh miner’s son Davey Fenwick (Michael Redgrave) leaves his village after receiving a university scholarship intent on returning to better support the miners against the owners.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): On a return visit to the village Davey calls at the family home where his mother (Nancy Price) is sorting out her washing, helped (or is it hindered?) by a small black cat sitting among the linen.
