Synopsis: True life account of philosopher and writer Hannah Arendt (Barbara Sukowa) and the controversy surrounding her New Yorker articles covering the trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem.

Purr Blur: Late in the film Hannah goes back to Jerusalem to visit her ailing friend Kurt Blumenfeld (Michael Degen). After leaving him, she is walking down a street. A tuxedo cat is walking toward her ahead of two rabbis. Hannah passes the cat which sits on a step for the rest of the shot.
