Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Two American sailors named Fiorello (Walter Chiari) and Jimmy (Carlo Campanini) get hit on the head outside the Colosseum and wake up in the time of Emperor Nero.

Kitty Cameo: Near the end of the movie Fiorello and Jimmy are trying to escape in chariots. They reach an intersection where they are stopped by a traffic guard. With Nero closing in fast, Fiorello notices a white and black cat eating on a nearby wall.

Implied Kitty Carnage Warning! Fiorello grabs the cat and holds it out in front of him, pulling on its tail to make the cat yowl. This sounds like a siren and the traffic guard lets them pass.

As rough as this sounds, apart from some quick scruffing the actor does not seem to actually be pulling hard on the cat’s tail and the yowling sounds are dubbed in.

Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like to be used as sirens.
