The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)

Directed by: Terence Fisher

Synopsis: Sherlock Holmes (Peter Cushing) tries to save the life of Sir Henry (Christopher Lee) who is threatened by the Baskerville family curse.

Purr Blur: In one scene Sir Henry calls upon a man named Stapleton. As he approaches the door, a white cat with black markings is sitting nearby.

The cat actor appears to be nibbling on something as Sir Henry knocks and finds the door open. Undoubtedly some treats were set there to keep the cat actor in place.

Final Mewsings: Cats find food more interesting than murder mysteries.

Many thanks to Ted Davis for letting us know about the cat in this film.
