Synopsis: A group of cool animated cats sing a jazzy song featuring double D’s.
Cartoon Cats: A heavy-set cat plays the piano and sings the song Hey Diddle Diddle about a cat on a fiddle. He is accompanied by two beautiful female cat backup singers with bushy tails.
The cat playing the fiddle is thin and blue and plays along with the song.
The short was produced for the children’s educational series The Electric Company by Jim Simon, who created Wantu Animation, Inc., a studio which produced many entertaining shorts for series such as Sesame Street and Vegetable Soup.
Final Mewsings: There were some cool cats working on kids’ shows back in the 70’s!
