Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some notable spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck), an autistic math savant who acts as an accountant to the most successful criminals in the world, returns in this sequel. After FinCEN director Ray King (J.K. Simmons) is murdered, leaving behind a trail of clues about a Salvadorian family taken by a gang of human traffickers, his successor Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) takes on the task of locating the family’s son and contacts “The Accountant” asking for his help.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): In Juarez, Mexico, the boy, whose name is Alberto (Yael Ocasio) is in a desert compound with numerous other children who are being held captive in order to make their enslaved parents obey orders. As Alberto plays jacks, a ginger tabby cat watches from nearby.

During the course of the story Christian enlists the aid of his assassin brother Braxton (Jon Bernthal) to help with the case. In one scene Braxton and Christian are talking about their single lifestyles and Braxton proudly says he is getting a dog. Christian asks him if he has a permanent residence, someone to care for the dog while he’s on long trips or if he keeps a regular schedule. When the answer is no to all of them, Christian states, “You’re a cat person.”
After the brothers have rescued the children and are driving away in a school bus, Braxton suddenly urges Christian to stop the bus. As Christian and Alberto watch, Braxton exits the bus and starts motioning to something off screen. He disappears for a moment then returns holding the ginger tabby cat.

Braxton is so excited, bringing the cat on the bus and saying he’s going to take the kitty home. “What should I call her?” he asks. “That’s a male cat,” Christian points out.

At the end of the film Christian, Braxton and Alberto are in a truck towing Christian’s airstream trailer. Alberto is holding the cat and Braxton childishly complains, asking when it’s going to be his turn to hold his cat.

There is talk of a third movie which would pick up where this one left off, leaving us hope that the cat will also return! The head animal trainer on the film was Cheryl Shawver with Jubel Chen, Amy Rodriguez and Denise Sanders acting as cat trainers.

Final Mewsings: If you are a cat person, embrace who you are . . . and embrace your cat!
