Synopsis: A comedy of misunderstandings finds a wealthy banker (Edward Arnold) caught up in scandal when the world thinks he has a mistress (Jean Arthur).

Purr Blur: At the beginning of the film, J.B. Ball the banker is starting his day. Leaving his bedroom he is confronted by a ladder, which he does not walk beneath. As he approaches the stairs, a black cat runs in front of him (the cat hesitates at first but then follows direction). “Oh, you shouldn’t have that cat in the house!” Ball tells a maid. “It’s bad luck.” He then falls down the stairs.

Final Mewsings: Black cats are not responsible for people not paying attention.
