by Ted Davis and Linda Kay
Directed by: Roy Del Ruth
Synopsis: Nervous and diminutive Eddie Elgin (Harry Langdon) is humiliated repeatedly during his attempts to court upper-class Ida Downe (Alice Day), but he gains a modicum of self respect and confidence after joining the police force, and his native wiles win the day.
Kitty Cameo: A young tabby arches his back in anger and fear when confronted with a portrait photograph of Eddie.

Cartoon Cat: Later, the young couple visit The Cat’s Meow, a smoky disreputable nightclub inhabited by a varied and unsavory clientele, where Eddie experiences additional embarrassments.

Purr Blur: In the second reel, Eddie is dressed as a policeman and sent down to patrol the seedy district of The Cat’s Meow club by members of the Anti-Slum League. While walking the empty streets, a potted plant falls from above just barely missing Eddie. The scared faux officer turns to walk the other way, only to have a black cat dart across his path.
