Also Known As: Eye of the Killer
Directed by: Paul Marcus
Synopsis: After a fall when chasing a suspect, washed-up alcoholic detective Mickey Hayden (Keifer Sutherland effortlessly defying the cliches of the character) develops psychic powers which allow him to create psychic impressions from touching keys, clothing, etc. and he uses his new found ability to track down a serial killer who has re-emerged after a 10-year hiatus.
Kitty Cameo: Returning to his seedy apartment, Hayden hears a cat crying and looking towards the window he sees a longhair tabby and white kitty on the ledge outside. “What are you smiling at?” enquires Hayden (one of the many subtle and not so subtle references to Alice in Wonderland strewn throughout the film) before pulling the curtains, closing out the cat.

Later, Hayden is back in his apartment and this time the cat is inside, sitting on the television set. They look at each other but Hayden remains silent.

The cat makes one final appearance towards the end of the film when Hayden returns to his apartment, bloody and dishevelled, and looking at the watching cat simply says, “Don’t ask.” Rick Parker was the animal wrangler on the film.

Final Mewsings: It doesn’t take psychic abilities to know you should spend more time with your cat.
